Moreira Transfer from Porto II to São Paulo
João Moreira, a 21-year-old right-back with Brazilian and Portuguese citizenship, is returning to São Paulo after São Paulo and Porto of Portugal agreed to terminate his loan contract. São Paulo ended the loan deal early because of the limited time that would remain on the loan after Moreira's recovery from a muscle injury. The understanding was that it would not be logical for him to return to Portugal for a short period, as his loan was originally scheduled to run until the middle of this year. During his time at Porto, where he had been since last season, Moreira made 12 appearances for the B team but did not play for the senior squad. The loan agreement, which was renewed at the beginning of this year, included a purchase obligation clause that would be triggered if certain targets were met. Moreira first joined São Paulo in February 2022 and his contract runs until June 30, 2027. His current market value is €1.20m.
