According to reports from Norway, Austrian champions RB Salzburg and Dutch club Feyenoord are expected to compete with Cardiff City for 20-year-old Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjertø-Dahl. Cardiff had been leading the pursuit of the Tromsø player, proposing a package valued at over 100 million Norwegian kroner. The package includes £7.8 million with add-ons and an upfront fee of approximately 80 million kroner (£6.2m). Both RB Salzburg and Feyenoord observed Hjertø-Dahl over the summer and are now considering matching Cardiff's financial offer following the progression of negotiations between the Bluebirds and Tromsø. Tromsø has made a counter-offer to Cardiff, and discussions are ongoing. The player is a Norway U21 international with 7 caps and is contracted until the end of 2029. He has scored 7 goals and made 2 assists in 15 domestic appearances this season. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €10.00m. Previously, bids from Rangers of around €6.25 million were rejected. A bid from Beşiktaş, reportedly valued at approximately €9.4 million, was also rejected by Tromsø earlier in 2026.
