According to reports in Norway, Dutch club Feyenoord and Austrian champions RB Salzburg are preparing to rival Cardiff City for Jens Hjertø-Dahl. Cardiff had submitted a bid for the 20-year-old Norwegian Tromsø midfielder worth over 100 million Norwegian kroner (£7.8 million), with about 80 million kroner (£6.2m) offered up front. Both Feyenoord and Salzburg have been monitoring Hjertø-Dahl throughout the summer and are now considering matching Cardiff's financial package after observing the ongoing negotiations. Tromsø have made a counter-offer to Cardiff, and there is a possibility the Norwegian club may delay any transfer until after their Europa League qualifying match. The Norway U21 international, who has 7 caps, is under contract with Tromsø until the end of 2029 and has scored 7 goals in 15 domestic appearances this season. His current market value is €10.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Rangers also reportedly had bids of around €6.25 million rejected, while a bid from Beşiktaş worth around €9.4 million was turned down earlier in 2026. It has been reported that Tromsø's asking price during July 2026 was between €8.25 million and €10 million.
