According to FC statements, Jaka Cuber Potocnik has extended his contract with 1. FC Köln on a long-term basis and will continue to play another season on loan at Rot-Weiss Essen. Marcus Steegmann, Director of Professional Football at Rot-Weiss Essen, stated their conviction that Potocnik will progress after his first experiences in the 3. Liga and added that they are very happy they were able to secure him for Rot-Weiss Essen again. Potocnik said he is very happy to be able to stay in Essen, mentioning that he felt comfortable at RWE from the beginning of the previous year and decided quickly when the opportunity for another loan arose.

FC Köln plans to extend the contract of 20-year-old Jaka Cuber Potocnik. The Slovenian U21 international is currently on loan at third-division club Rot-Weiss Essen, and this deal could be extended for another season to provide him with more match practice.
