Jahmai Simpson-Pusey leaving Manchester City U21?

Celtic Football Club has announced that young central defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey will join the team on a one-season loan from Manchester City. The 19-year-old Englishman, who is regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation, is set to wear jersey number 4 for the 2025/26 season. Simpson-Pusey has attracted attention following his leadership of City's U18 team to victory in the FA Youth Cup in 2024 and his first-team debut against Celtic during a summer tour in the USA. In the previous season, he led the Under-21 team to their fourth consecutive Premier League 2 title and made history as the first defender to receive the PL2 Player of the Season award. Coach Brendan Rodgers expressed his excitement about the new addition, noting Simpson-Pusey's speed, dominance, strength in duels, and excellent qualities in build-up play.

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, a 19-year-old defender, has reportedly issued an ultimatum to Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola. He conveyed his strong desire to play for the first team and suggested that he is prepared to leave, either on loan or through a transfer, if he is not given the opportunity to play at the senior level. This was reported by Marca and has attracted attention in the British media. Despite having made six senior appearances this season and being named the best player in the reserve team, Guardiola's plans for a smaller squad next season might limit opportunities for young players like Simpson-Pusey.
