Jacques Ekomie Transfer from Angers SCO to Wrexham
Wrexham have announced the signing of Jacques Ekomié in the final week of the summer transfer window. According to Sports Illustrated, the deal for Ekomié is for a fixed fee of roughly $9.5 million (£7 million), with that figure potentially rising to around $10 million (£7.4 million) if various add-ons are met. Wrexham had been pursuing a transfer for Ekomié for several weeks but intensified their pursuit following Thomason’s injury last weekend. Parkinson watched the 23-year-old in person when he attended Angers’ match against Paris FC in January as part of a scouting mission for striker Sidiki Chérif, but it was the left back who drew his attention. Parkinson explained that Ekomié is a player profile that suits their requirements, with power and strength, and that his qualities were identified as a good fit for the needed position.
