Discussions are reportedly progressing well between SCO Angers and RC Strasbourg for the transfer of 22-year-old Gabon international left-back, Jacques Ekomié. RC Strasbourg's appeal is enhanced by its connection to the BlueCo group, which also owns Chelsea. However, there is significant competition for the player, with newly-promoted Premier League club Coventry and Nottingham Forest also showing strong interest. From Germany, Hamburg, who were previously interested in the winter, and Schalke 04 are monitoring the situation, while Villarreal in Spain is also a contender. Their project is said to be particularly attractive to Ekomié. Angers has accepted that it will be difficult to keep the player, whose contract runs until 2027, and hopes to receive a transfer fee between €7 million and €10 million. Ekomié, who joined Angers in July 2024, has 21 caps for Gabon.
