According to Insider Lorenzo Lepore, an offer for Iuri Tavares has arrived from Turkish club Bursaspor. Bursaspor's offer was for approximately 1.2 million euros, and it was promptly rejected by Varaždin. Bursaspor was recently promoted to the second division and is assembling a team with the goal of returning to the top flight.

NK Varaždin has rejected an initial offer from Bursaspor for the 25-year-old Portuguese left-back Iuri Tavares. According to other outlets, the bid was considered too low. Schalke 04 are also interested in the player, but no club-to-club talks have taken place yet. Tavares, who also holds Cape Verdean citizenship and has one cap for their national team, joined Varaždin in July 2025. His contract with the Croatian club runs until May 2028, and his current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
