FC Petrolul announced on social media on the last day of 2025 that Ioan Cătălin Tolea is joining the second-tier team FC Voluntari on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old Romanian right winger has been with Petrolul since January 2022 and made nine appearances in the first part of the campaign. These comprised seven in the Superliga, where he registered no goals or assists, and two in the Romanian Cup. At the Ilfov-based team, he will have the opportunity to challenge for promotion while being guided by former 'yellow-blues' coach Florin Pîrvu. Tolea's market value is estimated at €250,000, according to Transfermarkt.com. His contract with Petrolul is due to expire in June 2028.
