CSKA published a video announcing that the club has reached an agreement with goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev on a new contract that will run until the end of the 2026/2027 season.

According to 'RB Sport', the general director of CSKA, Roman Babaev, stated that if 40-year-old Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev agrees to continue playing, the club will extend his contract. Babaev emphasized that both the club and he have an unchanged position on this matter, and the decision depends on Akinfeev's desire to continue his career. Akinfeev has been with CSKA Moscow since January 2003, and his current contract expires in June 2026. The veteran has 111 caps for Russia and a current market value of €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
