Ibrahima Sory Bangoura Transfer from Genk to Club Brugge
Club Brugge is targeting KRC Genk's 22-year-old Guinean midfielder Ibrahima Sory Bangoura as a replacement for Raphael Onyedika, who is expected to depart in the summer. Rumors about the potential move had already surfaced at the end of the winter transfer window, but Onyedika ultimately stayed. Despite not being a regular starter for Genk this season and struggling with inconsistency, Bangoura remains a primary target for Club Brugge due to his physical presence and ball-winning abilities. While Transfermarkt estimates his value at 8 million euros, Genk is expected to demand a higher fee for a transfer to a direct competitor. Bangoura joined Genk in January 2024 and is under contract until June 2028. In the current 2025/2026 season, he has made 14 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League without scoring a goal or providing an assist, and he has yet to be capped by the Guinea national team. According to reports from May 2025, Genk will demand a fee greater than €15 million for the player's transfer.
