According to exclusive sources from Africafoot, RC Lens and clubs from the Gulf are now also interested in signing 25-year-old Ivorian attacker Ibrahim Diabaté from his Swedish club, GAIS. This new interest has prompted Al Ahly, which was previously the main contender, to act more quickly to complete a deal. The Egyptian club recently sent a representative to meet with the player and GAIS officials to discuss the transfer terms. GAIS initially demanded $1.5 million, while Al Ahly offered $1 million. The Egyptian club has since added a $500,000 signing bonus for the player. It is reported that despite the increased interest, Diabaté is more inclined to join Al Ahly. Diabaté joined GAIS in January 2025 and has a contract that runs until the end of 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.20m.
