There is significant competition for GAIS striker Ibrahim Diabaté, a 25-year-old from Cote d'Ivoire, and Al-Ahly is considered the favorite to sign him. According to Africafoot.com, the interest from Gulf United and RC Lens prompted the Egyptian club to send representatives to Sweden to negotiate a deal. Al-Ahly is reportedly aiming to agree on all terms for a winter transfer and may offer the player a signing bonus of half a million euros. Diabaté has previously expressed a desire to one day move to Ligue 1. The striker joined GAIS in January 2025 and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €1.20m.
