According to exclusive sources from Africafoot, Al Ahly's management is in talks to sign Ibrahim Diabaté, a 25-year-old Ivorian striker who currently plays for the Swedish club GAIS. The Egyptian club is looking to strengthen its attack, partly as they seek a potential replacement for Wissam Abou Ali. Diabaté's strong performances as a forward in the Swedish league this season have attracted interest from several other European clubs. Initially, the player was not very interested in a move to Cairo, but his stance reportedly changed after the appointment of Danish coach Jes Thorup. He has since expressed a strong desire to join the Egyptian side. The same Africafoot sources state that Al Ahly has decided to proceed and is preparing an $800,000 offer for the striker. Diabaté's value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €1.2 million. He joined GAIS in January 2025 and his contract runs until the end of 2028.
