Al Ahly and GAIS have reached a definitive agreement for the transfer of Ivorian forward Ibrahim Yalatif Diabaté. The agreement was reached after GAIS increased its financial demands in recent days, which had disrupted discussions. Africafoot also reports that the Egyptian club has requested an additional delay before the signing due to an unresolved issue with Moroccan defender Achraf Dari. The situation with Achraf Dari is preventing Al Ahly from freeing a spot on the foreign players list, which is a necessary condition for Diabaté's registration. The Swedish club GAIS has set the end of this week as the deadline to finalize the transaction. GAIS may reconsider other options if there is no rapid progress from Al Ahly, including interest from Gulf clubs and RC Lens in recent months.

Negotiations, which appeared to be concluded four weeks ago, have been slowed by the Egyptian club, causing Diabaté's anger. Al Ahly organized a video conference meeting on November 30, 2025, with the GAIS sports director. The player's release price has increased from 1.2 million dollars to 2 million dollars, with a resale rate set at 10%.
