Hyun-jun Yang Transfer from Celtic to Birmingham City
Birmingham City renewed their interest in Hyun-jun Yang ahead of the January window, after he was close to moving to St. Andrew’s for £3million in the summer. He came very close to leaving, but Celtic stopped the transfer late on deadline day because they did not bring in a signing of their own. According to Pete O'Rourke, the Inside Track podcast, and Football Insider, Yang will not be leaving Celtic while Martin O’Neill is in charge, and the club will not be listening to offers for Yang in this transfer window as he is going to be needed by Martin O’Neill.

The Herald reports that Birmingham City are interested in signing Hyun-jun Yang from Celtic during the January transfer window. The Championship side has a long-standing admiration for the South Korean winger and had previously investigated a potential transfer in the summer, at which time Yang was close to joining Birmingham before the deal collapsed. It is understood that Birmingham remain interested and continue to monitor the situation, but any potential transfer would likely be dependent on Celtic first completing their own incoming transfers. If a replacement is not secured, the Parkhead club is expected to resist approaches until at least the summer transfer window.
