According to BILD information, Hoffenheim's 21-year-old German left-back Hennes Behrens is nearing a transfer to FC Augsburg, with negotiations at an advanced stage and the clubs largely in agreement. Augsburg's search for a left-back was partly to compensate for the potential departure of Dimitrios Giannoulis. BILD reports that FCA had been observing Behrens for some time due to his potential and his versatility in being able to play as a left-back and a centre-back. Behrens spent the last six months on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim, where he made 16 competitive appearances.
