Héctor Herrera Transfer from Toluca to Pachuca

According to Carlos Ponce de León, director of RÉCORD, Héctor Herrera has ongoing negotiations to join Pachuca. The negotiations are advanced, but final details are pending before the move can be officially announced. The main reason for Herrera's departure from Toluca is his high salary, which was the principal obstacle in contract renewal negotiations. The employment relationship between Herrera and Toluca ended after the last tournament, as both parties could not agree regarding the player's salary. Pachuca is expected to be Herrera's next destination, and the remaining aspects of the negotiation are anticipated to be resolved in the coming hours so he can join the club before the start of Clausura 2026.

Héctor Herrera, the current Toluca midfielder and Mexican international, has confessed his desire to retire at Pachuca, the club where he made his Liga MX debut. At 35 years old, Herrera acknowledged that the end of his career is approaching and that he has few years left as a footballer. While he did not rule out ending his career with the Diablos Rojos, he stated that his contract with Toluca is for one more year and a potential move to Pachuca would depend on receiving approval from Jesús Martínez, the president of Grupo Pachuca. Herrera explained that he would love to finish at either club, and after retiring, he would think about whether to become a coach, an agent, or simply enjoy life. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.00m.
