Hasan Kurucay's contract at Schalke 04 is set to expire at the end of the season. Kurucay stated that he has not heard anything from the club and that what happens will be seen at the end. He said that when his contract expires, he knows he will not be without a club and is not stressed. He also said that he has started to think a little and is a bit disappointed when he sees his teammates with good performances getting new contracts. Kurucay added that he is a leader and has not received a new contract, but is focusing on the games and on achieving survival at the end of the season. There have been no talks yet about a contract extension with the 29-year-old Turkish-Danish centre-back. Frank Baumann said that Hasan is someone who has been delivering very good performances for more than a year and that they are very satisfied with him and his development. Baumann stated that it is true they initially had other priorities for the extensions, but they are relaxed and will sit down with Hasan and his advisor at the appropriate time. Kuruçay joined Schalke in July 2025 and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €2.00m. He has been capped by Türkiye at the U21 level.
