The 24-year-old Japanese player was part of the KV Kortrijk team that faced relegation from the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. With his contract at KV Kortrijk running until June 30, 2028, Lech Poznań would be required to pay a transfer fee to secure his services. According to Kazu Kakiuchi, Fujii, who participated in 24 matches last season, is highly regarded by Lech Poznań.
