Romanian champions Universitatea Craiova made an official offer for Apollon's 29-year-old Cypriot left-back, Giorgos Malekkidis. The proposal was rejected by Apollon, who do not want to lose their captain and one of their most valuable players, despite his contract running until May 2027. The offer was described as very attractive for both the club and the player, but Apollon was not persuaded due to their high ambitions for the season. This is not the first time the club has rejected an offer for Malekkidis, having previously rejected an offer from Neftçi Baku, while there has also been interest from teams in Israel. Malekkidis, who joined Apollon in July 2020, has a current market value of €600k, according to Transfermarkt, and has been capped 11 times by Cyprus.
