According to A Bola, talks for the contract renewal of the number 10 are in progress and advancing, with the agreement anticipated to be concluded in the next few weeks. The contract review will include an extension of two or three years, from 2028 to 2030 or 2031, and a salary increase. An increase in the release clause from 60 to 80 million euros might also occur.

According to A Bola, Sporting has made the first official approach to Geny Catamo's representatives to communicate their intention of extending his contract.
