Gastón Martirena posted on his social media after his departure to Nacional was confirmed. On Tuesday afternoon, Gastón Martirena traveled from Buenos Aires to Uruguay to become Nacional's new player. At his presentation at Nacional, Martirena revealed that before joining the club he had talks with the Santos star about playing in Brazil, and stated that he has also spoken with Neymar.

César Luis Merlo reported that Gastón Martirena is traveling to Uruguay to join Nacional. Racing is loaning Gastón Martirena to Nacional for one year for a fee of $300,000, and the agreement includes a purchase option of $4.5 million.

Following some negotiations, Uruguayan defender Gastón Martirena is set to leave Racing and will play for Nacional of Uruguay on loan.
