Gençlerbirliği, a team that has recently been promoted to the Süper Lig, has successfully secured the transfer of Franco Tongya, the number 10 from Salernitana. The 23-year-old player, who holds both Cameroonian and Italian nationalities, is set to sign a contract for two years with an option for an additional year. According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Salernitana and Gençlerbirliği have come to a definite agreement. Tongya completed his medical examinations in Italy and is anticipated to arrive in Ankara to finalize the contract signing and for the transfer to be made official. Although no transfer fee will be paid, Salernitana will receive a percentage of any future sale. Tongya, who was trained in Juventus' youth academy, made the move to Salernitana from Denmark's Odense in the summer of 2024. Gençlerbirliği, who have yet to secure a win with a 0-4 record in the Süper Lig, managed to finalize the transfer just before the transfer window closed.
