Negotiations for a contract extension between Faik Sakar and RB Leipzig had not progressed for some time, and FC Augsburg is positioned to benefit from the situation. According to 'Sky', FC Augsburg has reached a verbal agreement with the 18-year-old central midfielder, who also holds French nationality. Sakar is expected to sign a contract lasting until 2030. His current contract with the Saxons expires in the summer, so the German youth international will join on a free transfer. He has one cap for the Germany U17 team and will be leaving his club after four years. In the 2025/2026 season, Sakar has scored two goals in seven appearances in the U19 Nachwuchsliga. The player, whose current market value is €200k, had also attracted interest from clubs including Milan, Inter, and SV Werder Bremen.
