It has been claimed that Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, who is being considered by Chelsea, may be a replacement for Mike Penders at sister club Strasbourg if BlueCo successfully overcomes competition for the goalkeeper.

Chelsea hosted 20-year-old French-German Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen at their training ground in an attempt to sign him. It is reported that the club is trying to sign the player ahead of both Newcastle United and Real Madrid. A price of $29 million (€25 million, £22 million) has been set for Jaouen. He joined Reims in July 2024 and his contract runs until 2029. The France U21 international has a current market value of €12.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
