Ethan Nwaneri Transfer from Arsenal to Olympique Marseille
Fabrizio Romano reports that Olympique de Marseille has submitted an official offer to Arsenal for the loan of Ethan Nwaneri until the end of the season, with no purchase option included. The offer from Olympique de Marseille proposes covering Ethan Nwaneri's entire salary, which is 2.4 million euros for six months, and paying a loan fee exceeding 3 million euros. The exact amount of this fee is linked to the number of matches Nwaneri plays. According to the report, Arsenal is considering this option and is in discussions with Marseille.
According to football transfer news expert David Ornstein, Marseille are in talks with Arsenal for a six-month loan deal for Ethan Nwaneri, an 18-year-old English attacking midfielder. It is reported that Marseille are currently working on a deal to sign Nwaneri on a six-month loan, although an agreement has not yet been reached. If the proposed deal goes through, Arsenal would be set to receive a loan fee, but Marseille will not have the option to make the deal permanent this summer. Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly held positive talks with both Nwaneri and Mikel Arteta, and the English player is expected to make a decision on the transfer shortly. Discussion of a January exit has intensified in recent weeks and Marseille are now pushing to sign him ahead of fellow suitor Chelsea. Nwaneri has 13 caps and 3 goals for England U21, has made 6 appearances in the Premier League this season, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €40.00m. Other clubs, including AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United, and Borussia Dortmund, have also been linked with the player. In May 2025, Arsenal reportedly valued Nwaneri at €80-100 million, and a July 2025 report mentioned an alleged swap deal offer to Chelsea involving the player plus €10 million.
