French club Toulouse, German outfit Schalke, and Belgian sides Club Brugge and Union St-Gilloise are among several European teams interested in Bosnian-Austrian Ermin Mahmić. The 21-year-old's performances for Slovan Liberec last season and for Bosnia at the World Cup have increased interest in him. Celtic are reportedly the leading contenders to sign him, and the Scottish club is nearing an agreement on an £8.5 million deal with the Czechia outfit for the attacking midfielder. Mahmić, who joined Slovan Liberec in July 2025, has a contract until 2029. He has made 5 appearances for Bosnia-Herzegovina, scoring 2 goals. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €7.00m. Earlier in August 2026, Slovan Liberec's asking price was reported to be between €7 million and €8 million. This was lower than the fee of more than €10 million that was reportedly demanded from German clubs in June and July 2026.
