According to reports, Liverpool are expected to compete with Arsenal to sign Erling Haaland if he becomes available next summer.

KC Paul Gilroy stated that it is a possibility for Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland for free in connection with Manchester City's FFP situation. In response to a question from Jamie Carragher, the KC said that although he has seen commentators describe it as unlikely, it is dependent on many factors. He mentioned as examples what the club is going to say to the players and how they resolve it financially, but argued that it is certainly a possibility.

Erling Haaland has signed a new long-term contract with Manchester City, but there are secret clauses that could allow him to leave if Manchester City are relegated or miss out on the Champions League due to non-sporting reasons. Liverpool, along with Real Madrid and PSG, are closely monitoring the situation, especially considering potential punishments Manchester City might face from the Premier League. Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, is known for ensuring such exit clauses are present.

Liverpool have reached out to Erling Haaland over a future move.
