Slavia Praha has completed the signing of Erik Prekop from Baník Ostrava. Baník was initially reluctant to sanction the move, particularly while the club was competing in Europe. However, following their elimination by Celje, owner Václav Brabec consented to the departure. Slavia's interest was significant and publicly confirmed by club president Jaroslav Tvrdík. The negotiations between the two clubs were described as challenging. Prekop's agent also verified the strong interest and the ongoing discussions. An agreement was ultimately reached. Baník reportedly gained a substantial financial sum plus three players in the deal. As part of the transfer, Prekop completed a medical in Prague.
Erik Prekop has signed with Slavia Praha just an hour and a half before the Champions League roster deadline. He signed a contract with Slavia till June 30, 2028. The transfer includes a player exchange with Baník Ostrava, involving Slavia's Ondřej Kričfaluši, David Planka, and Filip Šancl moving to Baník.
