While 23-year-old Albanian central midfielder Enis Shabani was preparing to leave Vukovar 1991, he was being monitored by Lokomotiva, Gorica, Varaždin, Slaven Belupo, and Rijeka. After the season ended, Slaven Belupo was considered the most probable destination, and later, it was increasingly said that Gorica might sign him.
