Emil Holten Transfer from Elfsborg to Hansa Rostock
Bild has reported on Hansa Rostock's acquisition of Danish striker Emil Holten on loan from IF Elfsborg. Hansa Rostock officially signed the Danish striker from the Swedish club just before the end of the transfer window. The club has also secured an option to purchase the 29-year-old. The transfer was essentially finalized since Sunday evening, with Holten passing the medical examination on Monday morning and all necessary contracts being signed. FIFA has now confirmed the long-awaited transfer. Holten ended his loan to Norwegian first division club Fredrikstad FK to move to Rostock. The player is represented by the agency Nordic Sky, which also manages former Hansa striker Sigurd Haugen. The deal was initially arranged last summer just before the deadline day.
Emil Holten is terminating his loan with Fredrikstad, where he played 26 matches, scored six goals, and provided four assists, and is close to a new loan to Hansa Rostock in Germany, who are currently ninth in the German third division. If all goes as planned, he is expected to be presented as the club's latest signing within the next few days. Holten joined Elfsborg from Esbjerg in August and has a contract extending until 2028.
