According to exclusive information from Africafoot, AJ Auxerre has declined an offer from Arsenal for the 16-year-old Moroccan U17 international Elyes Saïdi, who also holds French nationality. It was reported that the Premier League club wanted the midfielder for their reserve team, but Auxerre considers him one of its most promising prospects capable of joining the first team in the short or medium term. Saïdi, who previously spent time at Olympique de Marseille and Toulon, joined Auxerre on a free transfer in 2023 and was noticed after finishing the U17 World Cup as the top assister. In the current 2025/2026 season, Saïdi has made five appearances for Auxerre's U19 team and one appearance in the National 3 league.
