Elkan Baggott leaving Ipswich Town?

54d ago

The possibility of a loan exit for Elkan Baggott for the 2026/27 campaign should be considered. Remaining with a club in the lower part of the Championship is a possibility, but a team in the top half of League One could be ideal for Baggott to get regular starts in a competitive team. There might also be opportunities for a permanent transfer for Elkan Baggott, with a top-half League One club being a potential destination if such a deal becomes available. An exit is considered feasible because it is likely The Tractor Boys would not ask for a high fee for him.

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna told the East Anglian Daily Times that Elkan Baggott, who has not made a Championship appearance this season, has improved despite his lack of playing time. McKenna explained that the situation is a fine balance as Baggott is one of four senior centre-halves, and the three players ahead of him have missed very little playing time. He stated that Baggott's application in training is outstanding and he is a better player now than he was on July 1st. The manager added that they have to ensure they have enough cover, but also want good young players to get minutes for their development. McKenna concluded that they will try to make the right decision on Baggott's situation over the next couple of weeks.
