Estudiantes is proceeding with the contract renewal for Edwuin Cetré, a 28-year-old Colombian winger whose contract ends in December, to prevent him from leaving as a free agent. The club intends to meet with Cetré's representative to determine his future. The player has been linked with Boca Juniors and Athletico PR. According to reports from February 2026, an offer was made by Boca Juniors of approximately €3.7 million for 50% of the player's rights. A transfer to Athletico Paranaense for a reported €5.6 million was also agreed upon before being cancelled. Cetré joined Estudiantes in January 2024 for a fee of €2.3 million, and Transfermarkt lists his current market value at €3.00m.
