Atletico Mineiro made an effort to bring Douglas Santos back to Brazil during the current transfer window. Zenit reportedly received multiple inquiries for Santos, including one from Atletico Mineiro, the club where he played prior to his move to Europe. Nevertheless, Zenit's management was not open to considering these offers and decided against entering into negotiations. Santos has been part of Zenit since 2019, participating in 220 matches, scoring seven goals, and providing 33 assists. The 31-year-old Brazilian has achieved five Russian championship titles with Zenit and remains under contract until the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €9 million.
