According to Germanijak, Domagoj Begonja has joined Sesvete on loan from Varaždin and will play in the Prva NL.

Domagoj Begonja, a 20-year-old Croatian left-back, will leave Varaždin for Sesvete on a six-month loan as part of personnel changes. Nikola Šafarić, Varaždin's sporting director and coach, stated that Begonja has demonstrated he can be relied upon in the future. Šafarić explained that the purpose of the loan is for the player to gain match-playing rhythm and accumulate playing time, in order to prove he warrants serious consideration for the following season. Šafarić also commented that it would be unfortunate for Begonja to wait for a first-league opportunity and that he considers Sesvete to be a very good choice for the player. Begonja joined Varaždin in August 2025 and has made three league appearances this season. The Croatia U19 international holds a contract with Varaždin until May 2028 and has a current market value of €50k, according to Transfermarkt.
