Dimitar Mitrovski Transfer from Varaždin to Olimpija

Sportske Novosti reports on Mitrovski's transfer to Slovenian club Olimpija. Mitrovski is transferring to Slovenian club Olimpija. Despite the club's intention to keep him due to his importance on the team, they had to respect a clause in his contract and his desire for new challenges. He joined Varaždin for free and is leaving for a near-record amount.

Dimitar Mitrovski, a key player for NK Varaždin and a North Macedonia national team representative, is close to transferring to Olimpija, the Slovenian champions. The transfer is reportedly worth one million euros, marking the largest transfer in the history of the Slovenian league. The transfer is considered almost certain, as confirmed by Slovenian portals and coach Nikola Šafarić.

Olimpija is showing strong interest in acquiring Dimitr Mitrovski, a prominent player from Varaždin's team. Reports indicate that the club is prepared to pay a record transfer fee of one million euros, which would be the highest ever paid by a Slovenian club. Mitrovski had an impressive performance in the second half of the season, contributing significantly to Varaždin's fourth-place finish and their qualification for European competitions. Though Dinamo has also expressed interest, Slovenian sources suggest that Mitrovski is most likely to join Olimpija. This potential transfer would surpass the previous record of 800,000 euros paid by Olimpija during Milan Mandarić's tenure for Blessing Eleke. Goran Boromisa, the sporting director of Olimpija, is spearheading the efforts to secure Mitrovski, who has been identified as a crucial target following his exceptional performances. Despite interest from various clubs, Olimpija appears to be in a strong position to complete the deal, as the club is actively looking to reinvest funds from other major player sales this summer.
