VfL Wolfsburg had identified Davie Selke as a transfer target, but a move for the 31-year-old German forward from Basaksehir was contingent on the club avoiding relegation. After Wolfsburg was relegated to the second division, the player, who is noted for his heading ability, is now considered too expensive for the club. Selke joined the Turkish club in July 2025 and has a contract that runs until June 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.80m. He has been capped 15 times for Germany's U21 team, scoring nine goals.
