Davie Selke Transfer from Hamburger SV to RB Leipzig

Davie Selke, after a successful season with Hamburger SV where he scored 22 goals, is reportedly in discussions with RB Leipzig. RB Leipzig's sports director, Marcel Schäfer, has expressed appreciation for Selke's goal-scoring prowess, experience, and leadership qualities. It is understood that Selke is not being considered as the first-choice striker but rather as a backup and mentality player, with the potential to replace Yussuf Poulsen. Selke, who played for RB Leipzig between 2015 and 2017, is nearing the end of his contract with Hamburger SV, which expires in June. Despite Hamburger SV's desire to keep him, they are facing strong competition from RB Leipzig. During his previous time at Leipzig, Selke scored 14 goals in 53 appearances. Talks are already underway between Selke and RB Leipzig, with the club seeking someone to assume the role of a backup striker and mentality player, a role formerly held by Yussuf Poulsen. Furthermore, other clubs, including Union Berlin and some unnamed international teams, have also expressed interest in Selke, although RB Leipzig appears particularly eager to re-sign him.
