David Datro Fofana Transfer from Chelsea to Mallorca
Mallorca is working to secure a loan for 23-year-old Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana, who is playing for Karagümrük in Turkey on loan from Chelsea. This operation is one of several that Mallorca has in progress for the final days of the winter transfer window. The club's CEO of Football, Pablo Ortells, and a member of the technical secretariat, Aritz Aduriz, travelled to London to conduct face-to-face negotiations with various clubs. Journalist Marc Mechenoua reported via the social media platform X that French club Auxerre is also in discussions with Chelsea for Fofana. Mechenoua also stated that Mallorca has so far made the best offer to the London-based club. Fofana's contract with Chelsea is valid until June 2029. This season in the Turkish Süper Lig, Fofana has scored 6 goals in 13 appearances, and he has been capped 3 times by the Ivory Coast national team. His current market value is €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Chelsea's asking price for the forward was reportedly £10 million in January 2026, a reduction from the £15 million asking price in August 2025. The club originally signed him from Molde in January 2023 for a fee of €12 million.
