David Gray did not rule out Hibernian's interest in free agent striker Danny Ings. The Hibs Observer revealed last week that the forward was being considered by the Easter Road side as they examined how to strengthen their attack. Malky Mackay confirmed the club would look at the free agent market, adding that it would have to be a very specific type of player. Mackay said they will not be scouting for another three or four players, but perhaps one, and that there is a little bit of business still to do. Gray stated that Ings is currently unattached, along with quite a few other players, and that conversations are still happening. However, the manager added he is not going to speculate or mention any individuals regarding the club's current activities.

Former England striker Danny Ings is considering his options. The Easter Road club was among those that made an offer to the 34-year-old last week.

Following the arrival of their ninth summer signing under manager David Gray, Hibernian are still waiting for an answer from 34-year-old former England striker Danny Ings concerning a move to the Easter Road club. Ings, who has 3 caps and 1 goal for England, has been a free agent since July 2026 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.20m. Leicester City has also been mentioned in connection with the striker.
