Independiente Medellín is reportedly very interested in signing 33-year-old Colombian attacking midfielder Daniel Cataño for a second spell at the club, as they need a number 10 to replace Jarlan Barrera. The club is willing to pay compensation to Cataño's Bolivian team, Bolívar, to terminate his contract, which expires in the coming years. Despite being a regular starter in Bolivia, Cataño, who has had several other interested clubs in Colombia, would make a significant effort to return to Colombian football and rejoin the team he played for between 2017 and 2018. The one-cap international for Colombia joined his current club in July 2025. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €300k.
