1h ago

RB Leipzig are reportedly monitoring Benfica's 18-year-old Portuguese right-back Daniel Banjaqui, who also holds Guinea-Bissau nationality, and they are among several prominent European clubs interested in the player. The list of monitoring clubs is said to also include Tottenham, Brighton, Juventus, Roma, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. While no formal negotiations have begun between Benfica and any of the interested teams, intermediaries have reportedly made initial contact and gathered information. Banjaqui's contract with Benfica runs until 2031 and it is understood to include a €45 million release clause, with the club only willing to consider a sale for offers starting at €35 million. He has been capped five times for Portugal's U21 team, scoring two goals, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €10.00m.
