According to Digi Sport, Cristi Ignat has left Rapid and will sign with CFR Cluj, where he was wanted by Marius Șumudică. Rapid announced that Cristian Ignat and the club have terminated their contract by mutual agreement. According to digisport.ro, Ignat will transfer to CFR Cluj. At CFR Cluj is coach Marius Șumudică, who coached Ignat at Rapid last season and utilized him as a starter. Rapid will not require a transfer fee for Ignat because of the very good relationship between the clubs and to resolve the situation of a player who was not expected to play again. Ignat was not part of Rapid's squad for the last four matches and was not included for the Cupa României match against Poli Timișoara. He previously received an offer from FC Voluntari for a monthly salary of 8,000 euros, but he chose to wait until the end of the transfer window to see if other options would become available.

Cristi Ignat, a 23-year-old centre-back with Romanian and Moldovan nationality, is set to complete a transfer to CFR Cluj. The player had received an offer from FC Voluntari with a salary of €8,000 per month, but he chose to wait for other possibilities until the end of the transfer window. According to information from digisport.ro, Ignat will join CFR Cluj, where he will again work with Marius Șumudică, who coached him last season at Rapid and started him in 25 matches. Rapid will release him for free, a decision based on the good relationship between the two clubs and a desire to resolve the situation for a player who had minimal chances of playing. Ignat was not included in Rapid's squad for their first Romanian Cup match. The team's coach, Pancu, had said that there are several footballers in the squad who do not want to leave. He has been capped 14 times for the Romania U21 national team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €700k.
