Dundalk FC have signed 20-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 striker Cian Dillon from Queens Park Rangers on a multi-year contract. Dillon, who has made 2 appearances for the U21 national team, was previously part of the Shamrock Rovers academy before moving to England in January 2025. He joins the club after a year and a half with QPR. During his time with QPR, he played for the academy, made a senior team debut in the Carabao Cup, and had loan spells at Torquay United and Enfield Town. In the 2025/2026 season in the National League South, he made 10 appearances, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists. The player indicated that the transfer happened quickly and that his decision to join was simple after discussions with the manager. The signing follows the departure of two strikers from the club, Eoin Kenny and Gbemi Arubi, during the current window. Dundalk manager Ciarán Kilduff welcomed the signing and described Dillon as a young forward with significant potential.
