According to Africafoot, Girona is willing to offer 3 million euros to sign right-back Cheick Oumar Konaté in the winter transfer window. A previous attempt by Anderlecht to sign the 21-year-old Malian had failed. Africafoot also reported that Anderlecht had considered the player an opportunity, but he rejected their approach. Konaté is in his final contract year with French second-division club Clermont, which he joined in February 2023. He has made 8 league appearances this season and has been capped 3 times by Mali. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €1.80m.
