Cardiff City are reportedly the leading club among four interested in Reading's Welsh international midfielder, Charlie Savage. Lincoln, Blackburn Rovers, and newly-relegated Sheffield Wednesday are identified as the other interested clubs. It is now believed that a fee of approximately £800,000 could be enough to sign the 23-year-old, whose contract expires next summer. Savage has previously attracted interest, with Norwich City and Oxford United having been linked during the last transfer window, where Oxford also reportedly had a £500,000 bid rejected. Savage, who has two caps for Wales, became a Reading player in July 2023. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €900k.
