Cardiff are reportedly leading among four clubs in the competition for Reading's 23-year-old Welsh international midfielder, Charlie Savage. The other clubs mentioned as contenders are Lincoln, Blackburn Rovers, and the recently relegated Sheffield Wednesday. It is also stated that a fee of around £800,000 could be sufficient to sign the player, who has two caps for Wales and his contract is set to expire next summer. In the previous transfer window, both Norwich City and Oxford United expressed interest, and it was reported that a £500,000 bid from Oxford United was rejected. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €900k.
