Dundee United have confirmed that academy graduate and young defender Charlie Dewar has joined William Hill Championship side Arbroath on loan until the end of the season. The move follows a successful loan spell at Alloa Athletic last season where he gained first-team experience. At Arbroath, Dewar will join Scott Constable, who is also a Dundee United loanee. Manager Jim Goodwin said he was pleased for Dewar and excited to see how he performs, adding that a move to the Championship was the natural next step in his development after an excellent campaign with Alloa. Goodwin also noted that Arbroath would provide a great opportunity for the player to test himself in a competitive environment, and wished both Dewar and the club well for the season.
