Cédric Zesiger has left FC Augsburg to join BSC Young Boys, returning to his home country. Zesiger had expressed a desire to return to Switzerland for personal reasons. FC Augsburg's sporting director Benni Weber stated that Zesiger approached the club with the wish to return to his Swiss homeland and that, together with Young Boys, a mutually agreeable solution was found for all parties. One year ago, Zesiger joined Augsburg from VfL Wolfsburg for four million euros.

Cédric Zesiger wants to leave FC Augsburg for private reasons and is close to a return to Young Boys. Negotiations between the two clubs are underway, with a transfer fee of around five million euros being discussed. Augsburg is understood to be willing to facilitate the move, despite signing him last summer on a contract that runs until 2029.
